Community Life
"Our community... finds the deepest reason for its existence in the mystery of Trinitarian communion.
Among the people of God, it is a particular sign of a new way of living together,
not founded on ties of flesh and blood, but on the power of faith and sisterhood in Christ." (Constitutions, 36)
Community life is an essential part of our charism, built on sisterly relationships centered on the Lord. With the support of our Sisters, we carry out our ministries in collaboration among ourselves and with the local Church.
Community life invites us to holiness as we learn to accept and love each other, embracing both our virtues and limitations, and encouraging one another on the journey to heaven. Through sincerity and generosity, our community life thrives and demonstrates to young people the richness of diversity across ages, cultures, and personalities. In fact, we are over 10,700 Sisters worldwide!
As Salesians, a hallmark of our spirituality is our "family spirit," which strengthens our community bond through communal prayer, meals, and recreation. By sharing life, we gradually learn to accept ourselves and others, identifying areas where we need God's grace and healing. Community life provides the security of sisterly support and the space for personal growth, allowing us to become saints.
