On August 5, 2026, Sr. Janna San Juan, FMA professed the vows of chastity, poverty, and obedience forever as a Daughter of Mary Help of Christians.
Reflecting on her this day, Sr. Janna said, "There are two moments that are impressed deeply into my mind: After professing my vows, I stated that 'my life is joined forever to the sacrifice of Christ.' This is not something I can say on my own. I needed the strength that comes from prayer. Right before this moment, I was flat on the ground, in all humility and dependence on the prayers of others as they sang the litany of Saints. It was after this powerful moment that I could profess my vows forever, sign my name and say these words with faith-filled confidence and strength. The second moment was my expression of gratitude at the end, particularly to my parents. After thanking the clergy and Sisters, I faced my mom and dad. I addressed them, and then immediately struggled to get other words out. In that moment, I did not feel like a full-grown adult standing in front of them. Here is their little girl, whom they took to softball and soccer games and piano lessons. Here is the product of their pouring out of love, sacrifice and hard work throughout life. Here is their daughter, giving her life to the God who created her. Everything they had done for me has amounted to this. In that moment, I felt very profoundly the gratitude I have for my parents. It was the best day, and I'm so happy that so many people could be a part of it. Thank you to all who have prayed for me; prayer is the best gift! Praised be Jesus Christ, now and forever!"
